# Justin Owens Voice Spec
> Built 8/31/2026 from primary source: 6 full video transcripts pulled off @newageceo, transcribed with mlx-whisper, plus their captions. Raw files in `voice-corpus/`. Replaces the inferred spec that was built from brief quotes only.

## The corpus

| Shortcode | Posted | Length | Likes | Topic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DaiGTIrhlts | 7/08/26 | 77s | 1,578,622 | Stop trying to humble the person you chose |
| DbQcnfshLk7 | 7/26/26 | 95s | 1,565,548 | God shrinks your circle before He multiplies |
| DYCxpCshxhL | 5/07/26 | 107s | 828,619 | The wolf and the dog |
| DaDhceoB61x | 6/26/26 | 94s | 399,435 | Boredom is not depression, it is outgrowing |
| Dci2Bvytedf | 8/27/26 | 70s | 271,357 | The devil takes your peace as a processing fee |
| Dcn_pT9toL2 | 8/29/26 | 82s | 85,487 | A boy wants noticed, a man wants respected |

**Every one runs over 60 seconds.** Range 70 to 107. That independently corroborates the brief's claim that his long videos outperform his short ones, from a different direction than his own dashboard.

**DYCxpCshxhL is the wolf and dog video** the product teaches The Split on. Its caption is word for word what the brief quotes, so the brief's quotes are now confirmed against primary source.

## 1. He never announces. Zero setup, ever.

The ruling IS the opening. Six for six.

- "God will shrink your circle right before He multiplies your victory."
- "If she fine, you got to let her be fine."
- "A dog eats every day, but he wears a collar."
- "The devil gives you everything fast and takes your peace as a processing fee."
- "A boy wants to be noticed and a man wants to be respected."

Not once does he write "Here's the thing," "Let me tell you," or a setup question the next line answers. **This is the single most violated rule in both drafts.** V1 opened twelve-plus paragraphs with "Here's the..." V2's section headers are all setup questions. He would say none of them out loud.

## 2. The Split is his dominant move, and it fires 5 to 10 times per video

Two things in parallel grammar, set against each other. This is not one of seven triggers he uses occasionally. It is the backbone of every script in the corpus.

- "A dog eats every day, but he wears a collar. A wolf sometimes goes hungry, but he answers to no one."
- "Concern doesn't interrogate. Insecurity does."
- "The dog isn't free, he's just full."
- "Familiar isn't the same thing as fulfilling. Comfortable isn't the same as correct."
- "God's timeline feels slow because He's building something that lasts. The enemy timeline feels fast because he's building something that collapses."
- "Not the one with the most, the one who needs the least."
- "One lasts a moment, the other lasts a lifetime."

## 3. He defines by negation first

Says what a thing is NOT, then what it is. Constantly.

- "The shrinking is not a setback. It's the setup."
- "Insecurity doesn't protect the relationship, it puts a timer on it."
- "The emptiness you're feeling isn't absence. It's space."
- "You didn't receive a blessing. You accepted an invoice."
- "You're not losing yourself. You're finding the next version."

## 4. The absolution move, and it is the sales page's whole emotional engine

Three of six videos contain an explicit "nothing is wrong with you" beat, placed right after he describes the reader's self-blame.

> "your first instinct is to think something is wrong with you. **Nothing is wrong with you. Something is happening for you.**"

> "you're sitting there thinking something is wrong with you... **Nothing is wrong with you. It's called outgrowing.**"

This is exactly the forgive-then-teach structure the brief specifies for the page, and it turns out to be natively his, not a strategy we imposed. The page's "It was never you" is the same move in the same position. Keep it, and use his sequencing: name the self-blame out loud first, then absolve, then explain.

## 5. The money and accounting layer is dense, and "receipts" is his word

- "it always looks like a blessing until you check the receipt"
- "read the fine print. The cost is never up front. It's collected on the back end"
- "that is the processing fee"
- "you accepted an invoice you haven't finished paying"
- "attention without substance is the emptiest currency a man can collect"
- "audit who gave it to you"

This matters for the headline argument. "9.9 million receipts" is not a copywriter's word choice dropped on him. It is his own metaphor layer.

## 6. The Grace Clause, live

He convicts a behavior hard, then explicitly protects the people who might feel accused:

> "Now, the man who works his job to provide for his family is honorable. That's not weakness, that's discipline. That's the wolf hunting so his pack can eat."

That is the move to copy for the myths section. Convict the advice, then protect the reader who followed it, in the same breath.

## 7. The four-beat proof list

> "Abraham left his family. Joseph lost his brothers. David lost his position. Moses lost his comfort."

Four beats, identical grammar, escalating. Directly stealable for the celebrity cascade and the myths strip.

## 8. Rhythm: repetition triads

He stacks three parallel clauses to land a close. Both drafts and the current page use almost none of this. It is the biggest available upgrade.

- "don't panic, don't chase, don't beg anyone to stay"
- "let them be great, let them be seen, let them be exactly what attracted you"
- "fast money, fast pleasure, fast relief"
- "be loud, be flashy, be controversial"

## 9. Marching Order closes, six for six

- "Know which one you're choosing and why. The question is, do you?"
- "Let the boredom guide you. It's pointing you somewhere."
- "Chase respect. Let the boys chase attention."
- "Take the process fee before you accept the offer."

## 10. The caption template

Every caption is the video compressed to 2 to 4 rulings, ending in #runtheplay. Often the first caption line is the video's opening ruling verbatim.

> "A boy wants to be noticed. A man wants to be respected. Know the difference. #runtheplay"

> "God will shrink your circle right before He multiplies your victory. If people are falling off pay attention. Something is about to shift. #runtheplay"

**Use this as the template for sales page section headers and email subject lines.** Ruling. Ruling. Instruction.

## Mechanical rules pulled from the corpus

- **Sentence length:** most under 12 words. Almost no subordinate clauses. Fragments used on purpose.
- **Zero exclamation points** across all six videos and all six captions.
- **Zero hype vocabulary.** No "unlock," "level up," "game-changer," "insane," "crazy." Not once.
- **Concrete objects carry every argument:** collar, dress, fresh cut, receipt, invoice, room, circle, club, calls, claps.
- **Spoken grammar, not written.** "If she fine, you got to let her be fine." "Everything around you stay the same." Do not over-correct this into standard written English on the page, and do not caricature it either. Match the register of his captions, which sit a step more formal than his speech.
- **His recurring nouns:** season, weight, room, circle, gap, space, shift, setup, pattern, process, alignment.

## Two judgment calls for Brycen and Justin, not for the copywriter

1. **Faith register.** Four of six videos are explicitly faith-framed (God, scripture, the enemy). His audience clearly rewards it. Neither draft nor the current page uses any of it. Whether a $27 content offer borrows that register is a brand decision above the copywriter's pay grade. Flagging it because the corpus makes it impossible to ignore.
2. **This is a 6-video sample, all SEND content.** It is enough to fix the voice problem and it is real primary source, which is a large upgrade over quoting the brief. It is not yet the share-ranked top 20. When Justin's assistant sends the by-shares export, rerun the pipeline (harvest, download, transcribe are all resumable) and this spec gets sharper, plus we can verify all seven triggers against his catalog rather than the four visible here.

## Triggers confirmed present in this sample

The Split, The Grace Clause, The Marching Order, The Receipt, and The Name A Person Test all appear in these six. The Verdict Opening appears in all six by definition. That is six of seven visible in a six-video sample, which is a good sign the named mechanism actually describes his catalog rather than being retrofitted.

## Pipeline note

Harvested from `instagram.com/brycenco/saved/all-posts/` (the 6 new saves sat at the top of the grid, cleanly above the 8/30 boundary). Downloaded and transcribed through the existing `02 Marketing/ig-reel-mining/` pipeline. `manifest.tsv` is now 445 rows, archive 344 videos. Adding more of his posts to the saved collection and rerunning picks up only the new ones.
